Abstract

Hyacinth red, brown, colorless, turbid, and black zircons were observed; they consisted of samples which were rounded, less rounded with preserved faces, or those with rounded outgrowths on rounded zircons. The av. size was 0.088, 0.019, and 0.092 mm. with a range of 0.049-​0.112, 0.072-​0.118, and 0.08-​0.114 mm. for the mean, mode, and median, resp. The sorting efficiency, skewness, and kurtosis were (av. and range) 1.169 and 1.06-​1.32, 1.00 and 0.88-​1.18, and 0.27 and 0.22-​0.28, resp.
