Abstract

Fifty-two ostracode taxa are recorded from the Ariyalur Group (Late Cretaceous), Cauvery Basin, Southern India. Of these, seven are new, thirty-nine already reported and six left under open nomenclature. The new species are Cytherelloidea jaini, Curfsina Sastryi, Limburgina gowdai, L. mannikerii, L. guhai, L. khoslai and Pontocyprella uriyalurensis. The paper gives systematic description of seven species and revised/synonymised list of ostracode species reported earlier.
