Abstract

Soluble leaf protein patterns in in vitro derived diploid and haploid plants of mulberry variety - S54 of Morus indica L. have been comparatively analysed through SDS-PAGE. The protein bands decreased in the haploid clones as compared to those of in vitro diploid plants confirming the ploidy status of the gynogenic haploid obtained from unpollinated ovules cultured on half strength LSBM fortified with BAP (2 mgl-1) and sucrose (8) in in vitro condition. © Global Science Publications.
